MegaDesk is run by [to be filled in]. It keeps a workspace's tasks, goals and money in one place, on the web and in the iPhone and Android apps. This page says what it stores, why, and who else handles it.
What MegaDesk stores
- Your account: your name, email address and password. The password is stored only as a hash by our authentication provider.
- Your workspace's content: what you and your team put in — tasks, lists, deadlines and reminders, goals, notes, businesses and their logos, revenue and expense entries, receipts you upload, and images attached to tasks.
- Your team: the names, email addresses and roles of the people in a workspace, and the email addresses invitations are sent to.
- Your phone, if you use the app: the tokens Apple or Google issue so we can send it reminders and refresh its widgets, an identifier for the app's install on that phone, its time zone (so a reminder says “today at 9:00” in your time) and the app's version.
- Photos, if you choose them in the app: the app opens the camera or your photo library only when you choose to attach a receipt, add an image to a task or set a business's logo, and reads only the photo or file you pick. A photo taken or picked from your library there is saved without the location it was taken at; a file picked from Files is uploaded as it is.
- Services you connect: if a workspace links a revenue spreadsheet or feed, MegaDesk fetches from it nightly to bring in entries.
What it is used for
Only to run MegaDesk for you: showing your workspace on each of your devices, sending the deadline reminders you ask for, and keeping your home screen widgets current. MegaDesk has no advertising, does not sell or rent data, and does not track you across other apps or websites.
Who else handles it
- Supabase stores the database, the accounts and uploaded files.
- Vercel hosts the website and the server that sends reminders.
- Apple (iPhone) and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) deliver notifications. A reminder carries the task's title and when it is due; a widget refresh carries nothing about your work.
Each processes the data only to provide its service to MegaDesk.
Who in your workspace can see what
A workspace's owner and admins see all of it. Members see only the tasks assigned to them, and none of the workspace's money. The phone widgets show each person only what they could see in the app.
How long it is kept, and deleting it
Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the app or the website — see deleting your account. When a workspace's last owner deletes their account, the workspace and everything in it are deleted too. Deleted data leaves our database backups within their retention period.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Write to [to be filled in]. You may also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
MegaDesk is a tool for running businesses and is not meant for children.
